“We want to grow our future leaders”
A large pharmaceutical company wanted to ensure effective leadership planning and to engage the talent of its high potential young managers. Working with the HR Director and L & D Manager, we designed and delivered a 2 year development programme, beginning with identification of talent, diagnostic processes, coaching, training and real business projects. The programme generated tremendous commitment in the participants. It resulted in the significant acceleration of development for the young managers. Participants were much clearer on their career path and able to match their skills and development much more accurately to their own perceptions and to the needs of the business. The business was able to identify clear paths with immediate and projected roles for individuals to fit with corporate needs.

This generally received a positive response from the senior management, but also some other responses which I had not anticipated but which I have learnt from.
Outside of my directorate I have started to talk to other managers and directors regarding the business, the challenges they face, and potential opportunities for persons like myself.β
